Choose this bundle to clean and condition your ski skins, then wax the tip and tail glide zones without an iron. Separate products handle the skin insert and the glide base. The included Original Blue liquid wax is rated for −2 to −15 °C and all snow types within that temperature range.

The cleaning and skin-care routine remains useful as conditions change, but Blue is not the wax for a warm thaw. This is a maintenance kit for skin skis. It cannot restore worn skin fibres, repair base damage or change an unsuitable ski’s stiffness.

Six products, one of each

1. Clean and condition the skin

  1. Identify the skin insert and set aside a clean piece of cloth for it. Do not use a cloth carrying glide wax on the skin.
  2. Wipe the insert with Skin Cleaner and fibre cloth, changing to a fresh part as it collects dirt.
  3. Let the cleaned skin dry completely. Follow the container’s instructions.
  4. Apply Skin Care to a new, clean piece of cloth and wipe it onto the clean insert. Allow it to dry completely before skiing.

Cleaner removes dirt. Skin Care treats the clean fibres to help reduce wetting, icing and grabbing. Conditioner cannot do the cleaning step for you.

2. Prepare and wax the glide zones

  1. Shake SISU Glide Cleaner, apply it to a separate clean cloth and wipe the tip and tail glide zones. Keep it off the skin.
  2. Allow around 3 minutes to dry, then brush the dry surface with the included nylon brush.
  3. Shake Original Blue and use its sponge applicator to spread an even layer over the glide zones.
  4. Let the liquid wax dry for at least 20 minutes.
  5. Brush the glide zones to a shine with the clean nylon brush. Do not use this brush on the skin insert.

If the ski slips, ices up or feels slow

  • Poor grip: check skin cleanliness, wear and ski fit. Putting glide wax on the skin is not a fix for slipping.
  • Ice on the skin: let the ice melt before servicing. Clean the skin, allow it to dry and reapply Skin Care to the clean fibres. If icing persists, check skin condition and the ski manufacturer’s care guidance.
  • Glide does not suit the snow: check cleaning, the full 20-minute drying period and brushing before adding more wax. For the warmer +5 to −2 °C range, Original Violet is a closer match; it is not included here.

Do you need extra equipment?

The products, cloth and nylon brush for this routine are included. You do not need an iron, scraper, cork or roto brush. If you already have skin-care supplies and only need two glide-wax temperature choices with a brush, the Easy Glide Without an Iron bundle covers that smaller job.
