See approaching traffic on your bike computer. The CYCPLUS L7 combines a radar and tail light in a 67 g unit. It detects vehicles approaching from behind at up to 160 metres and sends alerts to a compatible bike computer. You get another source of information alongside what you can hear.
The L7 is a practical choice for road rides, commuting and the road sections of a gravel route. It tells you about approaching traffic while the tail light helps other road users see you. Radar alerts require a bike computer with ANT+ radar support.
Know what is approaching
An approaching vehicle appears on your computer's display. You also receive a beep if the computer supports audible alerts and sound is enabled. The radar's 40-degree horizontal detection angle covers an area to either side of the line directly behind you.
When a vehicle approaches at a relative speed above 20 km/h, the L7 warns it with rapid flashes. Relative speed means the speed difference between the vehicle and the cyclist. The manufacturer's stated warning rate is five flashes per second.
Choose the light mode for your ride
A 270-degree visibility angle helps the light remain visible from an angle. There are two constant-light modes, a flashing mode and a breathing mode that gently brightens and dims. You can also run the radar with the tail light switched off.
Brake sensing brightens the tail light for two seconds as you slow down. The brake-light function is not active in flashing or breathing mode. Use the CYCPLUS app to adjust brightness settings and update the device firmware.
Peloton mode synchronises the flashing rhythm of nearby L7 lights when they use the same flashing or breathing mode. This feature works between L7 units.
Battery life for longer rides
The 2000 mAh battery is rated for up to 22 hours in high-brightness flashing mode or 30 hours in radar-only mode. These are manufacturer laboratory figures. Brightness, conditions and device settings affect actual runtime. In radar-only mode, the tail light is off.
Charging is via USB-C. The L7 enters sleep mode after three minutes without movement and wakes when you move again, so there is no need to switch it off manually at every stop.
Seatpost or saddle mounting
Seatpost and saddle-rail mounts are included, along with pads for different seatpost shapes. Position the L7 vertically with a clear view behind the bike. Check this carefully when using a saddlebag: the bag must not block the radar.
