Rex Original Blue | Solid Glide Wax

A dependable cold-weather wax for skiers who enjoy preparing their own skis. Rex Original Blue is a fluor-free hot wax for training and regular base maintenance. Its −1 to −10 °C range covers many winter ski outings.

Apply this solid wax with a waxing iron, then scrape and brush. It also suits the final wax layers in Rex’s basic base-preparation routine.

Hot-waxing method

1. Clean the glide zones and let them dry.
2. Melt and spread the wax with an iron. Rex’s base-preparation instructions specify 140 °C for this wax.
3. Scrape off the excess while still partly warm, then let the base cool.
4. Clear the structure with a steel or brass brush and finish with nylon.

Treat only the glide zones, keeping grip zones and skins clear. Complete your tools with an acrylic scraper and nylon brush.
