The Fenix BC28R is a smart bike light set that combines a 2500-lumen front light and a 20-lumen rear light into one integrated system. Once paired, the rear light can be controlled from a dedicated button on the front light. The front light also shows the currently selected rear light mode.

The BC28R is not defined only by its 2500-lumen maximum output. Its highly usable 1400-lumen mode provides up to seven hours of runtime, while the 600-lumen mode lasts up to 12 hours. This makes the set particularly suitable for longer road, gravel and commuting rides.

Control both lights from the handlebars

The rear light has its own switch and can be used independently. When the two lights are paired, the rear light mode can be changed using the dedicated rear light button on the front unit.

The front light shows the currently selected rear light mode in real time, so there is no need to stop or reach back to the seatpost.

Wide and controlled beam pattern

A Cree XHP50D LED produces up to 2500 lumens and a maximum beam distance of 180 metres. The 92-degree beam illuminates the riding line as well as road edges, corners and obstacles approaching from the sides.

The cut-off beam pattern directs most of the light towards the road and reduces unnecessary light above the main beam. Correctly aimed, the BC28R works well for commuting, road cycling, gravel riding and mixed urban routes.

Replaceable 5000mAh battery and USB-C charging

The front light is powered by the included Fenix ARB-L21-5000 V2.0 battery. The replaceable 5000mAh 21700 Li-ion battery makes it possible to carry a charged spare battery for longer rides.

The rear light has a built-in 400mAh battery. Both lights have standard USB-C charging ports and can also be operated while charging.

One USB-C cable is included. Charging both lights simultaneously requires a second cable.

Handlebar and seatpost mounting

The included front light mount is designed for round handlebars measuring approximately 22 to 35 mm in diameter. The rear light attaches to the seatpost using the included mount and strap.

Mounting the front light underneath the handlebars or on a GoPro-compatible mount requires the separately available Fenix ALD-10 GoPro adapter. It can be combined with mounts such as the KOM Cycling CM06.
