After scraping hot glide wax, use horsehair to clear the base structure before the nylon finish. That is this brush’s main role: removing wax from the structure so the finishing brush can do its job next.
Rex 624 is a natural horsehair hand brush. Rex describes its action as milder than a brass brush. Choose it by the task it performs, rather than treating every brush as an interchangeable polishing tool.
Work on the glide zones. Sticky kick-wax areas and skin inserts are outside this brushing routine.
If your sponge-applied liquid wax specifies only nylon brushing after drying, there is no need to add a horsehair brush automatically. Follow the product’s instructions. This tool makes particular sense when you hot wax and scrape your own skis.
Do not use the brush to work through a thick layer of unscraped wax. The scraper removes that excess first. Equally, horsehair brushing alone is not the same as the final nylon step.
A dirty base still needs cleaning before waxing. If glide is wrong for the conditions, review the wax and snow type. Adding another brush cannot by itself correct the wax choice.
Supplied as one brush. An existing suitable structure-clearing brush may already cover this job, so a duplicate tool is unnecessary.
