Choose G21 Spray for freezing conditions when you prefer to spray on your glide wax and spread it with a cloth. Its range is −2 to −12 °C for all snow types, with dry, low-humidity conditions highlighted by Rex. This is the 150 ml spray version.

Spray or sponge bottle?

The spray suits skiers who already use a fibre cloth and prefer this way of dispensing wax. Spraying alone is not enough: the wax still needs to be spread evenly. For direct application from the bottle, the G Series sponge range removes the need for a separate spreading tool.

G21 Spray is marked −2 to −12 °C. The current G21 sponge version is marked −2 to −8 °C. For a choice based specifically on new snow or coarse, abrasive snow, consider G21G or G41 UHW in the sponge range.

Apply without an iron

  1. Clean the glide zones with a glide-zone cleaner and allow them to dry.
  2. Shake the bottle well.
  3. Spray a small amount at roughly 15 cm intervals along the glide zone, then spread evenly with a fibre cloth or natural cork.
  4. Allow 20 minutes to dry.
  5. Finish to a shine with a clean nylon brush.

The 15 cm figure describes spacing along the ski, not a specified spraying distance from the nozzle to the base.

Tools and common mistakes

For this routine, use cleaner, a fibre cloth and a nylon brush. No cork is needed if you spread with a cloth. An iron, scraper and rotary brush are not required.

Spread out obvious droplets before drying. If glide is disappointing, check base cleanliness and whether the wax was dry before brushing. Another coat cannot compensate for an unsuitable weather choice. Keep glide wax off the grip zone and skin on classic and skin skis.
