Rex G Series Liquid Glide Wax 60 ml | Sponge Applicator
Choose G21 for low-humidity conditions from −2 to −8 °C, G21G for new snow and G11 for mild weather. G41 UHW is the option for abrasive old snow, artificial snow and very cold conditions. Snow type matters as much as the temperature: G41 has two different ranges for different snow types.
Each variant comes in a 60 ml bottle with a sponge applicator. Apply to the ski’s glide zones, allow at least 20 minutes to dry and finish with a nylon brush. These fluor-free liquid waxes suit regular training and racing, with a straightforward application routine.

For one bottle to cover your usual winter training, start with your most common snow conditions. G21 makes sense for low-humidity frost within its range. If fresh snow is the main challenge, G21G is the more specific choice. Its wax hardness sits between G11 and G21.
Choose G41 UHW when wear resistance matters on coarse, abrasive snow. Its very hard wax blend also suits coarse wet snow, so it is useful beyond cold weather. On new snow, follow its separate −12 to −20 °C range.
Apply in five steps
- Clean the glide zones. Remove dirt with a suitable glide-zone cleaner, such as Rex Glide Cleaner, and a fibre cloth. Let the surface dry as directed by the cleaner’s instructions.
- Shake the bottle before applying the wax.
- Spread the wax with the sponge over the glide zones.
- Allow at least 20 minutes to dry. Let the coating dry before moving to the final step.
- Brush to a shine with a clean nylon brush. The skis are then ready for use.
What equipment do you need?
A nylon brush and cleaning materials complete the basic routine. The bottle already includes the applicator. You do not need a waxing iron, scraper, cork or rotary brush to apply and finish this liquid wax.
This is a practical choice for skiers who want to maintain glide without a hot-waxing session. It still requires cleaning, drying and brushing. On skating skis, treat the glide base. On classic and skin skis, treat only the glide zones, keeping the grip zone or skin free of glide wax. This product does not replace grip wax or skin care. A bottle of wax cannot correct a damaged base or guarantee the same glide in every snow condition.
Common questions
Can I skip brushing?
Nylon brushing is the finishing step in Rex’s instructions. Allow the wax to dry, then brush the glide zones to a shine.
The glide feels wrong. Should I add more wax?
Check the preparation and the snow first. Dirt calls for cleaning; an unfinished coating needs drying and brushing. If the snow type or temperature has changed, use the table to reassess the variant.
Do I need all four bottles?
