Rex Groove scraper, item 607

In stock. Delivery within Finland in 1-3 business days.

Wax left in the centre groove needs a tool that fits the groove. Rex 607 is a plastic groove scraper for that part of the ski. It complements a hot-waxing kit where a broad scraper cannot work inside the channel.

The groove scraper and acrylic scraper have separate tasks: one clears the groove, the other removes excess wax from the flat glide surface. Use them as required by your chosen wax method.

Working in the groove

  1. Make sure the wax is at the scraping stage specified in its instructions.
  2. Select the part of the tool that fits the groove and check the fit before applying pressure.
  3. Remove the wax with controlled movements, clearing accumulated wax from the tool as you work.
  4. Complete the remaining scraping and brushing steps for the glide zones.

The purpose is to remove accumulated wax. This is not a tool for cutting a new groove or reshaping the base.

When can you leave it out?

A basic sponge-applied liquid-wax routine may only call for application, drying and nylon brushing. You do not need a groove scraper automatically for that method. Add it when it solves a real step in your maintenance routine.

If the groove is already clear and the method does not call for scraping, extra work is not an aim in itself. Finish the glide zones with your nylon brush as directed.

Do not force the fit

If the tool does not sit correctly in the groove, reassess the contact point. Check that the tool is clean and undamaged. Removing wax is different from scraping away base material.

Supplied as one plastic groove scraper. Other ski surfaces and skin inserts need their own appropriate products and tools.
